In 2006 became the in-house Legal Counsel for the Belgian natural gas transmission network Fluxys
(Belgium) NV/SA, until June 2013. The role focused on managing the legal affairs of the company
with a focus on litigation. During these seven years, I supported the making of national and European

I am currently finalizing my BS Conservation Studies (Bachelor’s Degree Marist College/ Istituto
Lorenzo de’ Medici). I’m interested in further developing and studying art and architecture restoration
and preservation in both an academic and also a practical, hands on environment to pursue a career
in this field. At present I have about 40 free lab hours (outside class hours) with experiences in oil
painting, marble, wood, polychrome and (buon) fresco mural painting restoration projects under the
supervision of Prof. Lorenzo Casamenti. Thus also getting more experience in writing proposals,
(lab)reports and documenting undertaken work (cfr. e.g. second workshop, infra).
As extracurricular studies I have participated at a Workshop “Restoration” with Prof Lorenzo
Casamenti (June 2014) and a Workshop “Methodological Approach in Conservation of Wall
Paintings” (November 2014) given by Prof Alberto Felici.

Personal Background and Current Personal Development Plan
I have always been extremely interested in Art, Culture and History. During my legal career, I
continued to pursue and develop these areas. I continue to read about History, Art History, and
Archeology. On my travels around the world – another passion of mine – I developed into an amateur
photographer, interested in new cultures, architecture and people. Most of all I have continued to
develop my skills in the practical arts of painting and drawing. This started early in my life, developed
especially at the Steiner School, where individual talents were stimulated, which in my case were Art
I did several workshops, of which the latest were an Art class (drawing and painting) at the St. Lucas
Institute in Brussels (Belgium) and an introduction and apprenticeship in Stone Masonry at the
workshops of the Canterbury Cathedral6 (United Kingdom). A selection of some of my work can be
provided upon request.
I intend to undertake a Master’s program in Conservation.
